Drugs: The usage of Drugs.

Drugs are substances that could ruin even the most successful people. Commonly when people hear about drugs, they think of the most commonly heard (pot, crack, cocaine, ext.). But the truth is that a drug is a substance that when consumed into living organisms, alerts normally functions. This could include anything from Caffeine drinks to the deadliest man made substances.
The amount of freedom and the variety of accessible drugs available to freshman in college is much larger than in high school. Mostly, freshman have not yet experienced those long cram sessions so prescription drugs, caffeine, and hard drugs aren’t used. Most freshman stick to the most commonly heard drugs like pot, alcohol, and cigarettes. The amount of consumption is much larger in college than in high school though. It is not till ones sophomore year that if different drugs are going to be tried that one branches off and tries them.
Amongst my social circle the consumption of drugs is used. Everyone in my social circle drinks responsibly amongst social events. Some branch off and smoke cigarettes occasionally. But alcohol and cigarettes are where the border line is drawn. Personally I wouldn’t judge anyone if they were to go out and try different drugs because I know that there is always that temptation during struggling times. If they were to put themselves in danger or someone else at risk than a concern would be addressed.
The temptations to use drugs are very high. I would say this due to the whole college thing, and how it is known to be the time of your life and the whole party assumption people have behind the idea of college. Since these drugs are so much more accessible the temptation is greater because like one says they are just a phone call away. You also hear about people taking prescription drugs to stay up and finish work, so when work is loaded up the temptation gets greater and greater. Drugs will be something that will be tried by a large portion of college students through out there college years, and that’s just reality. All people can do is educated them and hope it goes in one ear and doesn’t come out the other.
